Bible study

During the fall and winter Seminole does electives on Wednesday nights, we haven't been attending faithfully for the last year because Mr. Rider doesn't like to go to the men's bible study, but I decided to start this fall (actually Jake has Children's choir practice on wed nite so I want to take him so he can be in the Christmas program). Besides the electives, the preacher will teach like a regular service and he's a great preacher. So I'm really leaning towards going to the main service instead of the women's bible study. I love a good Bible study, but I can't stand the women that cry every week and then the ones that never know when to stop talking!!! I may sound a little insensitive, Am I the only one? I don't mind if somebody cries one time, but every week!! And I want to cry when we have prayer request, I'm not going to pray for somebody's cat, or somebody's neighbor neighbor's job. I thought I had the gift of mercy but I'm starting to wonder if I really do...

As someone who always seems to have a problem with ladie's gatherings in general.....I'd definately have to agree with you.

i love me a good cryble study! i mean bible study, bible study!

as for the prayer request thing.....my sunday school class at hsbc does that. i bite my lower lip, or the rim of my coffee cup to get me through the awkwardness. it's killer!!

i think the best way to handle prayer requests is to pass a paper around and have people write it down, then make copies and had out. That seems to shorten it, maybe it takes to long to write"my best friend's mom's sisters hairdressers dad has a friend who has a son who has a cat..." You know what i mean.
The only thing worse is prayer requests in the junior high.
