My little flirt...or manipulator...

Today we got training wheels for Ethan's bike. He's not the most coordinated child (he gets that from me according to Stephen) so we went outside to practice, after a while I started to get frustrated, he kept going backwards stopping the bike, so I asked him "Ethan why do you keep stopping?", he probably sensed I was a little frustrated, so he just looked at me smiling and said, "mom I just want to stop to see how cute you are!". My jaw dropped to the ground, did I just hear that? I asked him again "what did you say?". He just smiled and said it again. My little flirt, he definitely gets that from Stephen!

Free time

So, after reading the little scolding, I'm feeling a little guilty and since I have some free time right now, here it goes. I'm "working" at the bookstore, actually I was reading the last book of the Twilight series, not my usual reading type, but I just can't put it down. I'm on the last book, and I was in the middle of an extremely important part when somebody had the nerve to interrupt me!! I know, what was she thinking! Can't you see I'm busy here!! And before I could ask what she wanted, she said, "oh that's the book I was looking for!" all excited of course, I understood her excitement which made it hard to protest, I was holding the last copy that Stephen had at the bookstore!! I thought for a minute, should I tell her that it's not for sale? I knew we could sell it later anyways, plus what else was I supposed to do! I had agreed to work while Stephen played golf because I just wanted to read anyways, it was the last book!!! But I felt guilty, and unwillingly I gave it to her. So now I have a few hours to kill and my options are: blogging, cleaning, shelve books, maybe find another book to read, or all of the above.

Let this be a lesson to all!

So Mr. Rider decided to go on a "mancation" as I read somewhere, I didn't say much when he told me, even tough it would mean a lonely and more challenging Valentine's weekend for me since I would have to not only take care of the boys but also work at the bookstore. But I knew he would have fun and he hasn't been skiing for years. So off they went on their trip, little did they know that our friend cupid was not pleased at all with the separation and loneliness they caused. They were aflicted with horrible stomach illnesess, exhaustion, and things we can't even imagine. That's right, coincidence? I don't think so. I don't believe Mr. Rider will be taking this important celebration of love lighthly any more. Mr Cupid is all about love, but he also punishes those who forget their responsiblities during this important celebration of love. For what I heard Sam was able to apeace the wrath of Mr. Cupid by sending flowers to his wife, but Jeff, I don't know what happened, maybe his flower arragement wasn't big enough, or the trauma caused to his poor wife who had to endure this on their first Valentine's day as a married couple was beyond Mr. Cupid's forgiveness. So I hope we can all learn something from this atrocious event so we can avoid the same mistakes. Mr. Cupid will be watching, he may seem like an innocent angel, but is he?

I might be a scrooge...

Yeap, I thought Mr. Rider was a scrooge, but I might be one too. My house is decorated and we have an awesome Christmas tree, we have some lights outside that haven't been lit up yet because we need some extension cords, we're going to Silver Dollar City on Sunday, we even have presents under the tree, but I just can't really seem to enjoy the fact that is Christmas time! I've tried playing some of my favorite Christmas music, but nothing...
I was actually thinking that if it wasn't for our kids, we probably wouldn't even have a tree or that many decorations. I hate shopping for people that have it all, it just seems like a waste of money, I would rather give it all to the Children's Home in Costa Rica or some other needy family. I even told my poor son that Santa didn't really exits!!! for crying outloud! We've never told them that Santa brings them presents but I don't want him to ruin Christmas for other kids in school, and apparently he said what I told him to somebody at school because he came back that day and told me "Mom, Santa is real if you believe in him" what was I supposed to say to that! "Yes, sweety you are right". Anyways, I guess maybe growing up, Christmas had such a different meaning for me. It was a celebration, but it was about Jesus. We did get one or 2 presents, but the most exciting part was to take groceries, clothes and some toys to needy families while singing Christian carols. Every Christmas Eve we would get together and read the Christmas story. I do miss my big family more around the Holidays, at least my sister will be here for Christmas this year. Sorry this is kind of a downer blog, but it is kind of sad when you think about how many people actually celebrate Christmas, but don't even know Jesus. What do they celebrate, really? I guess to them it's just the time a year when Santa comes to town.
Well, Ethan has his Christmas program tonite, and what can be better than those Christmas memories...

Cheap or thrifty?

So today we were at Mc Donalds, and the boys wanted to eat inside so we went in. I always get them just one happy meal and they share it, even the toy. So today the lady at the register looked at the boys and asked me "do you want 2 juices?" I told her no, they just share. So she just gave us our food and we went to find a table. She could see us from where she was, and she probably noticed I wasn't eaten (I wouldn't eat at McDonals if my life depended on it!) , I don't know but she must have thought we were so poor that after a few minutes she came to our table with free ice cream cones!!!

So the truth is that we've never gotten 2 happy meals, they just share one.
We never buy kids meals at restaurants, they just eat off of us. It's good for the diet too.
When we go to Andy's we just get them the little sample cones. FREE
Jake's birthday is in November so if he gets too many presents, we take a couple presents and give them to him for Christmas!! He never notices.
We buy our kids 3 presents for Christmas. (That includes the recycled ones)
Ethan wears mostly recycled clothes.
Mmmm, I know there's more, but I can't think of more right now.

Well, at least they've learned to share!!

Why have more babies!

Why have another baby when we can play with all these cute babies!
